How we add value

Impala has successfully evolved into a leading global storage infrastructure operator characterized by a diverse geographical footprint and an extensive range of products, while maintaining the highest operational, environmental, and safety standards.

Our portfolio of strategically located critical infrastructure moves essential commodities, providing a critical link between source and end user in the global supply chain.

Through our globally diversified storage and logistics infrastructure we ensure reliable and sustainable end-to-end services to our partners across dry and liquid storage and associated value-add services.

We are committed to sustainable business with a continuous focus on the safety of our staff, contractors, the environment and our communities.

Our role in the liquid bulk value chain

Our terminals are either strategically-located import terminals or regional hub terminals.

Our liquid bulk terminals, which operate in high-growth import markets, are ideally placed to provide energy import access to market. In these markets, continued growth in vehicle ownership is driving demand for road fuels and ongoing industrialisation will bring an increase in industrial product usage – driving demand for petrochemical feedstocks.

We play a key role in connecting the product flows from global refining hubs with the local downstream distribution networks. Our regional hub terminals are strategically located in the UAE and the Netherlands, where a new terminal in Rotterdam is under construction.

Our role in the dry bulk value chain

Our Dry Bulk terminals facilitate flow of base metals from their sources to international markets.

These base metals, such as copper, zinc and lead, have wide usage in electrical networks, renewable energy, consumer products such as electric vehicles, batteries, and mobile phones, plus construction and infrastructure development – all essential to modern society.

With a structural imbalance created by the geographic concentration of mines and base metal ore deposits, and the relative spread of increasing end user demand for products that contain these base metals, our bulk terminals are strategically located in close proximity to (copper, zinc and lead) in top concentrates export countries.

They play an important role in linking the product from mine to end user.

Value-add services

Our asset portfolio allows us to offer a broad range of tailored solutions to safely store and move commodities end-to-end for long term customers, as the below infographic shows.

Through our multi-modal transport options (train, fluvial or pipeline), we connect landlocked locations with global trade flows, with sustainability in mind and offer a variety of options to customers.

Our expertise in global logistics allows us to import and distribute products, as a service, on behalf of traders or distributors, with blending services that enable customers to meet their required product specifications.
